It’s funny how my style is going from anime to cartoony.

the same-although Ive always tried to maintain my art between a eastern and western hybrid.

I always admired the western art style even the old old ones like really old ones. Though when I started getting into the eastern art style is probably around the time I actually started drawing. I think back and I feel bad because one thing I discovered and I don’t know if it applies for everyone is to actually try these things at least once or a couple of times and you might grow to like it. I’m trying to keep it as you said a hybrid more or less like the other though. Having a hard time with that. I was experimenting yesterday with the hybrid thing and when I got to the eyes I was like uhhhh. Overall that’s the only part I’m having trouble with when it comes to the West-East art style. Probably gonna have to look up some examples of that crossover because it’s really bothering me.

I started out with drawing anime, in fact anime is what seriously got me into drawing in the first place. Although Ive always had a deep love for western/cartoony art just as much, hence my favorite all time childhood cartoon- “ren & stimpy.” In recent years I started incorporating a more western influence in my style. Even with becoming an animator, I don’t think I will ever truly outgrow my “anime roots” or my love for the medium in general.

imagebyakunut replied to your post: I find it really laughable when I see people get so up in arms over “tagged hate”

I think its because when you tag, people only expect it to be nothing but love towards the character. Which is pretty stupid in my opinion. I only don’t like it when it’s just “i hate ___” without explaining why.

oh man! exactly this!

Like not everyone is gonna tag their undying love for your favorite character! I don’t like when people tag hate without explaining why. but overally whether they do it or not, I don’t really take offense to it like most people.

I don’t even understand why they can’t just scroll pass it. It’s like they have the mentality where they’re like “tumblr is mine, your blog is mine, this tag is mine so you can’t do that”. Just because it’s in the tag does not mean they have to force themselves to read it (talking about the paragraph or more hate rants). Most people have forgotten that tumblr is a BLOGGING site. Where you blog and rant about whatever you want be it what you hate or love, I’m sure Karp designed the tags so when someone may post something the ones who are somewhat interested in the topic will see it or just for organizing sakes. People use tags for many reasons. It could be because, someone wants to have a debate, they want to see someone’s opinion as well (by opinion I mean not “YOU SUCK”, “STOP TAGGING YOUR HATE”, “HE/SHE’S A GREAT CHARACTER” and they don’t even explain anything.) etc., and maybe this person might just be a troll because believe it or not tumblr isn’t some perfect place where every one is nice and peachy. At the same time I think people also feel that the only people who would go through these tags are the people who like that certain character or what not. Still at the end of the day it’s an opinion you don’t have to force yourself to like it nor is the person forcing you to like it.

All of this^

people don’t own the tags-whether they track them or not. And as Ive seen in various tags from psycho pass to khr is people going ” STOP TAGGING YOUR GODDAMN HATE!” and all that. Like seriously? thats not going to stop anyone, in fact thats just going to motivate more people to purposely tag hate just to fuck with you. He or she may be a great character, but not in the eyes of everyone!

I think this sums up everything nicely*

she left me unsatisfied from day one. Ive always been on the fence with her character. Sometimes I would lean more towards liking her and then other times I would flat out hate her. I did however like some of the development she received towards the end but I really feel…

I still think it’s a shame that all the characters development had to wait damn near 400 chapters in order to show itself. :/ but overall I mostly miss the varia and XS. They were the only reasons worth reading khr. KHR’s ending has kinda crushed my motivation for wanting to read any more long running series as well as leaving a big void thats becoming hard to fill.

Well Ive really only been reading khr for the varia so yeah. But Tsuna’s character has always been off-putting for me. He’s just the overly stereotypical cliche shonen protagonist who never breaks the mold to become something more. I generally hate characters with a messiah/savior  complex, as well as his extreme pacifist nature. The only time I really rooted for him was during the battle with xanxus because I wanted xanxus to really get his ass handed to him. I too have always had a thing for villains. KHR gave me many great feels as it did have some crowning moments of awesome.

by the way, kinda random what how did you feel about chrome? I personally never cared for her ever

I don’t really know tbh.
I’ve never paid so much attention to her… she appeared for the first time during the varia arc, if i’m not mistaken?
Sometimes i liked her, sometimes i didn’t - it even hit me the thought that she and mukuro made a cute couple.
The problem is that she was unstable???? i mean, Amano showed us some strong sides of her personality (her loyalty to Mukuro, her will to make everything for him and his “”boss”“) but then??? she dropped her in the middle. During the last arc, i hoped to know more about her character and finally decide if i liked her or not, but I remember her fighting just in few pages (it was just a chapter??? i don’t really recall, i was very disappointed with khr at that time).

I’d say she left me very unsatisfied =/

lol knowing that makes me really glad that I didn’t get into khr or the fandom until the story was was the shimon arc XD. I honestly skipped over most of the future arc and pretty much read the parts with squalo and the varia-then re-read the other shit at a later date.) In all honesty I only stuck with khr for the sake of the varia and out of the false hope that squalo and especially xanxus would actually get some more character development. I pretty much said fuck it and gave up on the entire story halfway through the final arc-especially after chapter 399.

In retrospect however I sometimes kick myself for staying with the series all the way till the end.

#Plus you you have NO idea how much I hate tsuna!

GOD YES.
I’ve never liked Tsuna since the beginning - I tolerated him at first, since chapters 1-80 were just for fun and all - but this is an issue about personal tastes.
I’ve always found him a silly immature brat, and above all he and his “family” are the “let’s save everyone, let’s forgive our enemies, don’t kill don’t kill” kind ugh.
Yeah, i must admit he even said some cool things, like he would protect his friends no matter what (i don’t remember exactly, when there was no varia I just leafed through the chapters w/o actually reading lol)  but i just cOULDN’T BRING MYSELF TO LIKE HIM.
It’s not the kind of character i’m fond of and it’s not surprising i’ve fallen for Varia.
Loudy cruel assassins, ASSASSINS. TheY DO KILL THEIR ENEMIES. KILL THEM.
They’re true “”“mafia men””“. And i’ve always had a thing for villains and antiheroes so (●´∀`●)
Not to mention the STORY behind Xanxus and Squalo’s characters (and Belphegor’s too and I’m sure even Lussuria and Levi have interesting motives that brought them to follow Xanxus, though Amano never showed them).
I owe khr since it made me know awesome characters, but I also “hate” it for making me falling in love and then crushing my feelings not giving them room for growing.

YEAH, I don’t really miss KHR per se, but i do miss Xanxus and his crew A LOT.

A new series with our assassins as main characters, some plot and good post-battle sex would help.

“I don’t really miss KHR per se”-So Im not the only one who feels this way. I don’t really miss khr as a whole either(that ending completely ruined my outlook on the series for me) but I do more than ever miss the varia!

I know right (´Д`。)
I reallly liked KHR when I first started reading it tbh - this means during the Kokuyo and then the Varia arc - but I’ve soon lost interest in it.
It took Varia a long time to make their appearance in the Future arc… khr was getting boring and I keep feeling so until the end (as you already know, i kept reading it hoping to see more sides of Xanxus and Squalo ;//;)
It had a HUGE potential, but didn’t meet my expectations ~

Request for surrealscorpion

Yay you finally drew my OC! haha! it looks really nice! =D

Haha same. I knew that Kawahira was going to show up in some shape/form in this arc even though it’s kind of random and I have no idea why he’s doing all these complicated stuff.

lol especially since he been the one of few characters in this series we know close to nothing about. Supposedly this was foreshadowed since the future arc. supposedly

So I really REALLY liked this thought, but unfortunately, I doubt Nihei will be doing Disney characters anytime soon :\
With that in mind, I fiddled around a bit myself and came up with this.

The image hosted on my deviantart (i’ll add a link when I upload it in a few)

The tumblr of the brains behind this idea

The Nihei Works Referenced (all from bizarre sources. Links to Tsutomu Nihei’s actual website doesn’t seem to work right for me, but it’s supposedly here, and his twitter, being the only online presence I could find for the man, is here.)

OMG!!! I can’t believe you did this! haha this is great! XD lol

cyberpunk tinkerbell, peter pan, captain hook.

currently working on  a web comic, will publish it sometime in October…  I love the current story Idea! *
