You may see some insects here and there but there’s only one frog in this illustration. The Paedophryne amauensis is recognized as the smallest frog and probably the smallest vertebrate in the world. Found in Papua New Guinea, it is so difficult to detect since it spends most of its time camouflaged in the forest floor. It does not go through the tadpole stage in its lifetime and are born as “hoppers”. These froggies can jump 30 times its length! Have you found it?
Give up? Here’s the solution: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e360/revcruz/AngInK/Paedophrynecol-sol_zps891f70d8.jpg and http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e360/revcruz/AngInK/Paedophrynecol-zoom_zps1ec20d61.jpg .
Well, that is more or less the actual size of the Paedophryne amauensis.
Also up at AngI.n.K’s Thinkie Tank where you’ll see other frog artworks from Inkie artists.
Uchouten Kazoku - Episode 6
Taking in Fall Colors
Last week I went to the zoo and skipped all the lions and tigers and gorillas to draw lizards and birds for four hours.
I feel like we relate because I, like lizards, would much prefer sitting under a warm lamp than to do anything.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who made this connection?
